The brand-new Formula KFX Rotax Racing Club Senior Championship kicked off its debut round, and Next Level Karting’s Giovanni Perez-D’Amico was there to represent the team in the Lightweight category. With a fresh series, a new track, and a different style of rental karts, the challenge was high—but Gio was ready to make an impression.
Qualifying – Settling In Fast
Despite learning both a new kart and circuit, Giovanni adapted quickly. He delivered a sharp qualifying run that placed him P2 for the pre-final, proving that speed and adaptability are strengths that travel anywhere.
Pre-Final – A Setback and a Fightback
The pre-final brought drama early. Just two corners into the race, Giovanni was hit from behind and spun around in Turn 2, tumbling down the order to P11. Gio refocused, put his head down, and clawed his way back through the pack. By the time the checkered flag waved, he had fought back to a solid 7th place, setting the stage for redemption in the final.
Final – From Chaos to Victory
The final was where Giovanni truly shined. As chaos erupted in Turn 1, he kept his cool, threading his way through the mess and jumping straight up into P3. Locked onto the leaders’ bumpers, he bided his time as they battled fiercely. When the opening came, Gio struck—slipping past to take the race lead. From there, he controlled the pace, extended the gap, and crossed the line first to secure Next Level Karting’s first Formula KFX win.
