I’ve been go-karting for four years, and looking back, it’s incredible how quickly things turned around. When I first climbed into the kart, I was straight-up terrified. The noise, speed, and vibrating from the motor beneath me were overwhelming. On my second time out, something clicked. The fear that had weighed me down the first run lifted. Suddenly, the track isn’t terrifying—it’s exciting. The kart felt more like a partner than a danger. I started to enjoy the rush, the control, the sensory intensity. That’s where the fun kicked in, and I was hooked. After a few years I was over weight for my class so I moved this year to Junior 2.
After I moved up into Junior 2, I was right at class weight. It was a big step up—the competition was tougher, the karts faster, and every ounce mattered. Being at the right weight gave me the confidence to focus on skill, not just setup. I started refining my race craft hitting cleaner lines and defending position like it meant everything. That’s when I really began to grow – not just as a driver, but as a racer.
